The Chinese plastic industry under the "Made in China 2025" initiative

2018/5/28

As is well known, the Second Industrial Revolution brought about a significant transformation in Britain from a traditional agricultural society to a modern industrial society. The Industrial Revolution was an important stage in the history of capitalist development. At present, the current situation of China's industrial development is worrying, mainly reflected in the unreasonable industrial layout, top heavy, weak basic industrial level, huge high-tech research and development investment that cannot be realized, insufficient research and development capabilities of state-owned research institutes and enterprises, unreasonable research models, serious misappropriation of research funds, lack of industrial quality standards and supervision, unscientific industrial talent training models, and so on. These numerous problems, combined, have resulted in the inability of Chinese industrial products to be produced, hindering the development of technology.

On March 5, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang proposed the grand plan of "Made in China 2025" during his government work report at the National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. On March 25, 2015, Li Keqiang organized a State Council executive meeting to deploy the acceleration of the implementation of "Made in China 2025" and achieve the upgrading of the manufacturing industry. It was also at this State Council executive meeting that the "Made in China 2025" plan was reviewed and approved. On June 15, 2015, Li Keqiang inspected China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. During the inspection, Li Keqiang said that Chinese manufacturing has played an indispensable role in the overall improvement of the country's comprehensive national strength, but it should be noted that we are still at the middle and low-end level in the international industrial division of labor. Under the new situation, implementing "Made in China 2025" and promoting the transformation of the manufacturing industry from large to strong, not only in the field of general consumer goods, but also in advanced manufacturing fields such as high-tech major equipment, we must be brave enough to compete.

The Chinese government is leading industrial enterprises in China to upgrade their industries. Although China's manufacturing industry is facing many challenges, such as global growth slowdown affecting its exports and increased domestic production costs; But for the plastic industry, China remains an important driving force for the growth of the global plastic industry.

For example, according to a research report released by consulting firm IHS Markit in January this year, more than half of the global demand for polyethylene will come from China by 2021, and polyethylene is one of the main players in the polymer materials market.

The slowdown in economic growth certainly has its impact. Germany is a source of plastic and rubber machinery imports for China. In 2016, Germany's exports to China decreased by 4%, and in 2015, the decline reached 19%.

In this context, how small and micro enterprises in the plastic industry can break through the shackles of the enterprise, increase the supply of small and medium-sized demand through innovative thinking, and survive has become a concern for small and medium-sized enterprise owners. Mr. Cai Daqing just adapted to this mode of thinking and innovatively used the Internet thinking. The unified entrance of "plastic pipe and mobile phone" integrates "two micro ends" and other mobile applications, which not only integrates the upstream and downstream industrial chains, but also integrates the Internet thinking into the plastic pipe industry!
